Theme: Use of cold plasma to optimize cosmetic formulas

Problematic :

Manufacturers in the cosmetics industry want to develop ever safer and more efficient formulas. The use of cold plasma in cosmetics would facilitate innovation in formulation, thus providing consumers with a new customer experience.

Presentation of an ozone-free cold plasma technology, which can optimize the quantity of preservative, decontaminate, optimize the quantity of alcohol or even optimize sunscreens.

This technology comes from the GREMI laboratory, as part of the ARD COSMETOSCIENCES , a cosmetics research program in the Centre-Val de Loire region.

On the occasion of COSMETIC 360, COSMETIC VALLEY highlights an ambitious project aimed at making the cosmetics industry a model of sustainability. Join us at the Sustainable Industry stand (Soufflot room), an interactive space dedicated to concrete actions and solutions for a sector committed to protecting the environment. The cosmetics sector is at a turning point: the environmental emergency requires companies to reinvent themselves by increasingly integrating more ecological and responsible practices. COSMETIC VALLEY is actively committed with its Sustainable Industry project, in partnership with major players in the sector and partners such as EDF, Veolia and CITEO, to build an ecosystem of sustainable solutions. This innovative project aims not only to transform industrial processes, but also to increase the competitiveness and attractiveness of the French sector.

Join us on November 21st at the Pôle Chimie Balard of the University of Montpellier, for an immersion in the heart of the latest advances in cosmetic research. This day, organized in partnership with the University of Montpellier, the CNRS, and COSMETIC VALLEY, will allow you to better understand the university's research work in connection with the cosmetics sector and to establish contacts to develop your innovation.

• Eco-extraction and reasonable sourcing for the production of sustainable natural ingredients by Pr Isabelle Parrot Smietana of the Max Mousseron Institute of Biomolecules

• Encapsulation and vectorization: From Liposomes to Lipid Vesicles extracted from plants by Pr Sylvie Begu, Institut Charles Gerhardt Montpellier-Plateforme de Vectorisation d’Actifs

• Characterization, modeling and control of the texture and appearance of cosmetic products and in particular sun products by Dr Frederic Geniet, Dr Matthieu George Charles Coulomb Laboratory (L2C) and Dr Véronique Montero, Bioengineering and Nanosciences Laboratory (LBN)

2. Laboratory Visits:

Analysis and Characterization Platform (PAC) and the cutting-edge facilities of the Charles Gerhardt Institute Montpellier.

3. Participate in the annual meeting of the Cosm'Actif Research Group at B2B meetings (digital)

Submit your project easily with Interreg thanks to a 2-step process:

1. Present the needs and objectives of your project, its added value and the relevance of your partnership

2. If your project is selected at the end of this first phase, you will be invited to submit a detailed application including a complete work plan and a budget.

Eligibility criteria : Participants must be from the North-West Europe region (Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Switzerland, as well as parts of France and Germany).

Among the projects supported: COSMÉTO' VRAC, led by Les Laboratoires Expanscience in 2020, which takes an eco-responsible approach to revolutionize the distribution of dermo-cosmetic products.

This project experiments with bulk with returnable and reusable containers for Mustela brand baby products. It preceded a collective dynamic called “Pharma Research”, which aims to test pharmacy refill solutions.

If you also want to try reuse, the “EncoRE plus reuse” Call for Projects launched by CITEO is an opportunity not to be missed, with a budget of 60 million euros allocated for 2024!
