BioKoume develops premium natural ingredients derived from by-products of African trees recognised for their medicinal properties and distinctive olfactory profiles, drawing inspiration from ancestral African traditions. The start-up extracts high-value bioactive complexes with strong functional potential for the cosmetics, perfumery and animal health sectors, within a framework of responsible sourcing, regulatory compliance and collaborative innovation.

Certifications

Biokoume is currently compliant with the Nagoya Protocol, the international regulatory framework governing access to genetic resources and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits. This compliance ensures the legal, traceable and ethical sourcing of the forest resources used, in coordination with the relevant authorities. Other certifications have not yet been implemented at this stage and form part of Biokoume’s roadmap, in line with industrial scale-up and European standards.
