

On July 1st, the Cosmetic Environment & Safety conference brought together key players in the sector around a common goal: to accelerate the ecological transition of the cosmetics industry.
The inaugural conference by Sandrine Berthet (DGE – Ministry of the Economy) set the tone for the day: cosmetics, a pioneering sector in the ecological transition, thanks to eco-design, sobriety and responsible innovation.
The session dedicated to water management highlighted concrete solutions:
The morning concluded with a strategic presentation by Pierre Ebran (TALENZ AUDIT) on the CSRD directive, highlighting the challenges of compliance and transparency.
An afternoon focused on action and innovation
The afternoon was devoted to the eco-design of cosmetic products and packaging, with a focus on environmental performance as a lever for competitiveness.

🏅 Congratulations to Estelle REN from the University of Limoges, who was awarded the best poster prize for her work: "Development and characterization of an eco-responsible sunscreen formulation based on hydroxyapatite"

Finally, the congress also launched a call for expressions of interest (CEI) on the theme of water. The objective: to identify innovative solutions to better preserve, manage, or recycle this key resource in cosmetics production. The CEI is open until September 15, 2025.
