OUR MISSION
Created in 2014, the COSMETIC VALLEY Endowment Fund supports and develops initiatives of general interest in France and internationally, notably through patronage. Its aim is to promote science, the arts and culture and to share knowledge in the following fields:
- Cultural and industrial heritage of cosmetics
- Research in the fields of cosmetics, perfume and cosmetope
- Museum of the House of Cosmetics in Chartres
We act directly with beneficiaries or by funding projects and structures that share our values.

THE COSMETIC VICTORIES COMPETITION: CELEBRATING COSMETIC INNOVATION

THE “COSMETOPEE - CONGO BASIN” FUND
A SUSTAINABLE COMMITMENT TO THE BIODIVERSITY OF OUR PLANET'S SECOND LUNG
Following the commitments made at the One Forest Summit 2023, the “Cosmetopoeia - Congo Basin” fund is being established to contribute to the preservation of the biodiversity of the Congo forest by implementing projects and initiatives in favor of the preservation and sustainable development of local cosmetopoeia.
In 2024, more than 60 applications from 5 African countries responded to the call for projects “Cosmétopée - Congo Basin”, disseminated with the support of the PFBC (Partnership for the Forests of the Congo Basin) of which COSMETIC VALLEY is a member.
This call, addressed to local actors (public, private, associative organizations) established in the countries of the Congo Basin, was supported by a Scientific Committee to select 14 projects which will benefit by 2027 from financial assistance of up to €30,000 each.
Research and training programs applied to cosmetopoeia and/or local initiatives with cosmetopoeia as a source of development will all contribute to the preservation and enhancement of the natural and cultural heritage of the second lung of our planet, respecting the laws in force and the will and rights of the populations holding the know-how.
Regarding Cosmetopoeia:
Launched in 2010 by COSMETIC VALLEY, the Cosmetopoeia is to cosmetics what the pharmacopoeia is to pharmacy: an inventory of natural resources and their traditional uses for skin and hair care and well-being. It represents a shared history that unites humankind and its environment, a history that must be documented, studied, and preserved as a means of safeguarding biodiversity, raising public awareness, and fostering sustainable economic development.
THE HOUSE OF COSMETICS
A UNIQUE PLACE IN THE WORLD
The company was born from the need to reveal to a wider audience the still largely secretive world of cosmetic products that everyone uses. It upholds values that serve humanity, the men and women of our planet: universal utility, human well-being, responsibility towards all living things, freedom, and scientific progress.
The House is not intended to be a static museum, nor a museum of collections, but a dynamic, living, immersive, interactive house, which will take its visitors from all over the world on an educational and playful journey of intellectual and sensory discovery around everything that makes up cosmetics and its link to human beings and their environment: its history through the ages, continents and cultures; its industry with multiple complementary expertise (from raw material to finished product); its inexhaustible creativity which draws on today's research and tomorrow's innovation; its agility in the face of consumer expectations often specific to each region, each culture, each lifestyle; its requirement for safety and compliance with international standards and regulations; its commitment to the challenges of climate, the preservation of biodiversity; its essential positive role on the well-being of human beings and self-esteem.
Besides being a place for conservation, learning, transmission of knowledge, and sensory experiences, it will contribute to promoting the expertise of cosmetics, of which France is a flagship, both in France and abroad.
Another equally important mission: by valuing all the professions that contribute to the production of a product, it will raise awareness of the diversity of skills and talents that the sector is constantly seeking.
Supported by the COSMETIC VALLEY endowment fund, the House will open its doors to everyone, professionals and the general public, opposite Chartres Cathedral in 2028.
