- Transport phenomena in polymers ranging from highly permeable (high-flux membranes) to poorly permeable (barrier materials) and systems for the controlled release of active ingredients. Cell interactions. Agro materials.
Main applications: Polysaccharide-based hydrogels for controlled sequestration and release of active compounds or cell culture, composite materials (containing natural fiber reinforcements), membranes for water and air pollution control.

- Development of antibacterial coatings for bottles to limit the use of preservatives in cosmetic formulations. Development and characterization of polymeric materials with controlled transport properties.
