The CASU team is located in Lens and includes 15 Teachers-Researchers. Our research activities are multidisciplinary and include expertise in Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Catalysis, Supramolecular Chemistry, Organic Synthesis and Chemical Engineering. More specifically, our activities focus on the valorization of vegetable oils and starch derivatives (cyclodextrins). Recently, we have functionalized triglycerides (castor oil and jojoba oil) with alcohol functions and synthesized amphiphilic cyclodextrins by coupling with oleic acid derivatives.
Intérêt pour les industriels
Our team is able to synthesise amphiphilic and highly water-soluble<n>compounds from biosourced molecules (derived from starch<n>(cyclodextrines) and vegetable oils) for applications in the cosmetic<n>field.
