Safety assessment of cosmetic products intended for specific populations

According to a recent study by Cosmetics Europe, each European consumer uses more than seven different cosmetic products per day. Cosmetic products are intended for everyone: women, men, babies, mature individuals, those with sensitive skin, acne-prone skin, pregnant women, and so on. However, European cosmetic regulations only consider products for children under three years old and for external intimate hygiene as requiring specific evaluation; no guidance is provided for other specific populations. Therefore, it is up to each individual to assess the safety of products, taking into account the specific needs of their target audience.
