COSMETIC VALLEY PRESENTS ITS NEW TRAINING PROGRAM "INNOVATING WITH ALGAE IN COSMETICS" 2024 IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CEVA

The training module is getting a makeover for this upcoming 2024 session with more extensive content, the continuation of the field trip on the foreshore which is very popular with our trainees, and new for 2024 the introduction of a 1.5-hour workshop in the laboratory!
Cosmetic Valley has chosen to rely on the expertise of CEVA, a technology and innovation center dedicated to algae, marine plants and marine biotechnology, in order to offer employees in the perfume and cosmetics industry a tailor-made module adapted to their needs, enabling them to develop their skills on the subject of algae, a raw material rich in properties applicable to our industry, in order to identify its many innovation prospects.
The training will be provided by CEVA and will take place over 2 days. It will alternate between theoretical instruction with PowerPoint support, a field visit to discover algae, and a practical session in the laboratory.

General objective:
Understanding the potential of algae in cosmetic applications to develop new products
Operational objectives:
Upon completion of the training, the trainee will be able to:
- Learn about the main species of microalgae and macroalgae, their production methods, their main uses and markets
- Understanding the chemical diversity of algae and their potential for the development of new active or functional ingredients
- Mastering the typology of algae-based ingredients on the market and their main claims
- Understanding the regulatory context (IECIC, Nagoya…)
- Positioning the development of a new ingredient in relation to sourcing, sustainability and techno-economic feasibility.
Prerequisites:
Scientific knowledge at the high school diploma level.
