Public financing which can be allocated to companies submitting a collaborative research project varies between 30% and 45% of the overall budget depending on the size of the company.
Financing stems from:
- :: European aids: FEDER
- :: National subsidies: the single inter-ministerial fund-FUI (industry ministry), national research agency - ANR, Industrial innovation agency-AII, FEDER and OSEO.
- :: Local aids: contribution from local authorities
The State budget for financing competitiveness clusters has been set at a minimum of €1.5 billion over three years (2006-2008).
Requests bids are regularly issued to finance research and development projects submitted by competitiveness clusters.
