As vital components of Cosmetic Valley, universities and training institutions have a major role to play in organising the cluster by preparing future generations to meet new requirements in the fields of perfumes and cosmetics and developing specialised fields in conjunction with opportunities provided by the network of companies.
They also contribute to enhance the loyalty of a population of researchers in a cluster for excellence.
Over 75 000 students are listed in the region’s four universities comprising Cosmetic Valley where there is a concentration of courses in cosmetics and perfumes.
High-level university courses are offered to future beauty professionals via IUT organisations, bachelors’, masters’ and doctoral degrees in many fields: packaging and boxing, process engineering, cosmetic formulas, logistics, biology, physical and sensorial chemistry, production and maintenance, quality, management…
In addition to courses provided by secondary schooling and the four universities comprising Cosmetic Valley, the cluster also features instituts universitaires et technologiques, engineering schools, public and private facilities offering higher education and vocational training. 136 facilities were identified offering over 80 different courses relating to the industry.
The cluster has listed currently available courses and intends to enhance the value of the professional and ensure developments on an international scale.
As this approach is supported by the region, the cluster took part in developing additional curricula in conjunction with organisations. One example is the launch of a ‘process engineering’ DUT in Rambouillet.
14 establishments are currently members of Cosmetic Valley:
