Given the increasingly competitive global economy France launched a new industrial policy in 2004 to mobilise the key factors contributing to competitiveness.

The aim is to help companies enhance the innovative capabilities by prompting operators in a region to generate synergies around innovative projects which may be eligible for public subsidies.

 

The Cosmetic Valley cluster quickly acquired a reputation for facilitating and coordinating research projects in the region.
Its total control over the network (which is both diversified and complementary at the same time), its ability to make different structures and people work together (research and industry, etc.) and the region’s assets in human resources specialising in perfumes and cosmetics (Cosmetic Valley campus) ensure effective support.
